Lesley Ann Brandt, born December 2, 1981 in Cape Town South Africa is an actress and model. The appearances she has made on television films and shows are among her most recognizable works. Brandt made her debut in New Zealand with the sitcom Diplomatic immunity. Her American debut came with the character of Naevia in the drama of the same name, Spartacus: Blood and Sand. The actress appeared on a lot of television shows over the last decade, such as Spartacus: Gods of the Arena CSI: NY Single Ladies The Librarians. Since 2016, Brandt is playing the role as Mazikeen in the urban fantasy series Lucifer starring Tom Ellis Lauren German and Kevin Alejandro. Brandt is originally from Cape Town South Africa, and moved with her family to Auckland New Zealand in late teens. Brandt began modeling in commercials on TV and in print. Before her rise to the spotlight as a model, she worked in sales for retail and as an IT recruitment consultant. The first time she was featured, she landed her role in 2009 in the New Zealand sitcom Diplomatic Immunity in which she played the character as Leilani Fa'auigaese. In 2021, she made her first appearance on the big screen in Spartacus Blood and Sand on Starz. The role she played was that of the slave girl Naevia. She has as well reprised her role as Naevia in the prequel mini-series Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. Craig Parker was her co-star in three separate TV shows which include Diplomatic Immunity (2009), Spartacus (2010) as well as Legend of the Seeker (2008). Her first role was Mazikeen as a demon who pursues bounty hunters in Netflix's hit TV show Lucifer. It's her most memorable role so far. Co-starring along with Tom Ellis Lauren Germany Kevin Alejandro and D. B. Woodside.

The fact that she was a highly successful journalist can be said to suggest that the lady was born for this profession. When she was a teenager Maria tried to figure out which career she wanted. She was then tempted to work as an interior decorator. Then she was attracted by the exciting world of journalism and never looked back. She's not only a great journalist, she's also a role-model for women who wish to succeed in an all-male world. She was named one of the 50 Faces that Shaped the Decade she also became the first female journalist to be inducted into the Cable Hall of Fame. Also, she is a writer and columnist.
